  12. Pray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.

  13. Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

  14. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power to prevail.

  15. My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back,

  16. consider this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

  17. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

  18. Conduct yourselves with such honor among the Gentiles that, though they slander you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.

  19. Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your husbands, so that even if they refuse to believe the word, they will be won over without words by the behavior of their wives

  20. But in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect,

  21. As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift he has received to serve one another.

  22. If anyone speaks, he should speak as one conveying the words of God. If anyone serves, he should serve with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

  23. They have testified to the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.
