  1. Then they said to Jeremiah, Jehovah be a true and faithful witness amongst us, if we do not according to all the word wherewith Jehovah thy God shall send thee to us.

  2. Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of Jehovah our God.

  3. And when he was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,

  4. and saying, Lord, my servant lieth in the house sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.

  5. And he saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

  6. And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.

  7. For I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers: and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

  8. And when Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

  9. And I say unto you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven:

  10. but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast forth into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

  11. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And the servant was healed in that hour.

  12. and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

  13. And wheresoever he entered, into villages, or into cities, or into the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

  14. I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made for all men;

  15. for kings and all that are in high place; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and gravity.

  16. Is any among you sick? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

  17. and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

  18. Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

  19. Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

  20. And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

  21. My brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;

  22. let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.
