When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said, “Tomorrow shall be a feast to the LORD.”
They rose up early on the next day, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the LORD’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”
When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.
For I am the LORD your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.

“‘Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the LORD your God.
I will set my tent among you, and my soul won’t abhor you.
I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.
He said to Korah and to all his company, “In the morning, the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.
“You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
“Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
“You shall not murder.
“You shall not commit adultery.
Hear, Israel: the LORD is our God. the LORD is one.
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.
You shall fear the LORD your God; and you shall serve him, and shall swear by his name.
You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him in Massah.
He humbled you, and allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know; that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the LORD’s mouth.
You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve him; and you shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.
