  1. “You shall not wrong an alien, neither shall you oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

  10. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality. You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.

  11. You shall follow that which is altogether just, that you may live, and inherit the land which the LORD your God gives you.

  12. You shall not deprive the foreigner or the fatherless of justice, nor take a widow’s clothing in pledge;

  13. but you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you there. Therefore I command you to do this thing.

  14. My face is red with weeping. Deep darkness is on my eyelids.

  15. Although there is no violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.

  16. “If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me;

  17. What then shall I do when God rises up? When he visits, what shall I answer him?

  18. Didn’t he who made me in the womb make him? Didn’t one fashion us in the womb?

  19. It is not for kings, Lemuel; it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’

  20. lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.

  21. Thus says the LORD: Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the foreigner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place.

  22. For if you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting on the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.

  23. But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself, says the LORD, that this house shall become a desolation.

  24. To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
