Bible Verses About Holiness
Key Bible Verses
Then The LORD said to Aaron,
“You and your sons are not to drink wine or strong drink whenever you go into the Tent of Meeting, or you will die. This shall be a statute forever throughout your generations.
You are to make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean.
For I am the LORD your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.
For I am the LORD who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Therefore the children of Israel can’t stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.
“Get up! Sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, for the LORD, the God of Israel, says, “There is a devoted thing in your midst, Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted thing from among you.”
LORD, who shall dwell in your sanctuary? Who shall live on your holy hill?
He who walks blamelessly does what is right, and speaks truth in his heart;
He who doesn’t slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his friend, nor casts slurs against his fellow man;
In whose eyes a vile man is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; he who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and doesn’t change;
he who doesn’t lend out his money for usury, nor take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be shaken.
Who may ascend to the LORD’s hill? Who may stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the LORD’s law.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart.
Yes, they do nothing wrong. They walk in his ways.
Yes, in the way of your judgments, the LORD, have we waited for you. Your name and your renown are the desire of our soul.
With my soul have I desired you in the night. Yes, with my spirit within me will I seek you earnestly; for when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed.”
I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
For as the earth produces its bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring out; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring out before all the nations.
In that day there will be on the bells of the horses, “HOLY TO THE LORD”; and the pots in the LORD’s house will be like the bowls before the altar.
Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the LORD of Hosts; and all those who sacrifice will come and take of them, and cook in them. In that day there will no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the LORD of Hosts.
