  1. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

  9. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

  10. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

  11. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

  12. ¶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

  13. ¶ And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

  14. And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

  15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

  16. ¶ Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

  17. And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

  18. And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

  19. ¶ And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

  20. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

  21. And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:

  22. But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.

  23. And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.

  24. Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:

  25. And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
