  1. Which is the earnest of our inheritance, for the redemption of that libertie purchased vnto the prayse of his glory.

  2. For we are his workemanship created in Christ Iesus vnto good workes, which God hath ordeined, that we should walke in them.

  3. And grieue not the holy Spirit of God, by whom ye are sealed vnto ye day of redemption.

  4. But our conuersation is in heauen, from whence also we looke for the Sauiour, euen the Lord Iesus Christ,

  9. Looking for that blessed hope, and appearing of that glorie of that mightie God, and of our Sauiour Iesus Christ,

  10. Who gaue him selfe for vs, that hee might redeeme vs from all iniquitie, and purge vs to bee a peculiar people vnto himselfe, zealous of good woorkes.

  11. Neither by the blood of goates and calues: but by his owne blood entred he in once vnto the holy place, and obteined eternall redemption for vs.

  12. And for this cause is he the Mediatour of the newe Testament, that through death which was for the redemption of the transgressions that were in the former Testament, they which were called, might receiue the promise of eternall inheritance.

  13. Knowing that yee were not redeemed with corruptible things, as siluer and golde, from your vaine conuersation, receiued by the traditions of the fathers,

  14. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a Lambe vndefiled, and without spot.

  15. But yee are a chosen generation, a royall Priesthoode, an holy nation, a people set at libertie, that yee shoulde shewe foorth the vertues of him that hath called you out of darkenesse into his marueilous light,

  16. Herein is that loue, not that we loued God, but that he loued vs, and sent his Sonne to be a reconciliation for our sinnes.

  17. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthie to take the Booke, and to open the seales thereof, because thou wast killed, and hast redeemed vs to God by thy blood out of euery kinred, and tongue, and people, and nation,

  18. And they sung as it were a newe song before the throne, and before the foure beasts, and the Elders: and no man could learne that song, but the hundreth, fourtie and foure thousand, which were bought from the earth.

  19. These are they, which are not defiled with women: for they are virgins: these follow the Lambe whithersoeuer he goeth: these are bought from men, being the first fruites vnto God, and to the Lambe.
