  1. I struck you with a burning wind, and with mildew, the palmerworm hath eaten up your many gardens, and your vineyards: your olive groves, and fig groves: yet you returned not to me, saith the Lord.

  2. Thou shalt sow, but shalt not reap: thou shalt tread the olives, but shalt not be anointed with oil: and the new wine, but shalt not drink the wine.

  3. For the fig tree shall not blossom: and there shall be no spring in the vines. The labour of the olive tree shall fail: and the fields shall yield no food: the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls.

  4. But I will rejoice in the Lord: and I will joy in God my Jesus.

  5. And now consider in your hearts, from this day and upward, before there was a stone laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord.

  9. And if some of the branches be broken and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them and art made partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree:

  10. Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root: but the root thee.

  11. Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.

  12. For if thou were cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, wert grafted into the good olive tree: how much more shall they that are the natural branches be grafted into their own olive tree?

  13. Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear grapes? Or the vine, figs? So neither can the salt water yield sweet.

  14. And I will give unto my two witnesses: and they shall prophesy, a thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.

  15. These are the two olive trees and the two candlesticks that stand before the Lord of the earth.
