Bible Verses About Scoffing

Now the Pharisees, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.

But others mocking, said: These men are full of new wine.

And the Jews, seeing the multitudes, were filled with envy and contradicted those things which were said by Paul, blaspheming.

And certain philosophers of the Epicureans and of the Stoics disputed with him. And some said: What is it that this word sower would say? But others: He seemeth to be a setter forth of new gods. Because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.

And when they had heard of the resurrection of the dead, some indeed mocked. But others said: We will hear thee again concerning this matter.

How much more, do you think he deserveth worse punishments, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God and hath esteemed the blood of the testament unclean, by which he was sanctified, and hath offered an affront to the Spirit of grace?

Knowing this first: That in the last days there shall come deceitful scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

Saying: Where is his promise or his coming? For since the time that the fathers slept, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
