Issachar
Verses Mentioning Issachar
And these are the sons of Israel: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, and Zabulon,
And to the sons of Gerson by their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Aser, and out of the tribe of Nephtali, and out of the tribe Manasses in Basan, thirteen cities.
Out of the tribe of Issachar, Cedes and its suburbs, and Dabereth with its suburbs;
Now the sons of Issachar were Thola, and Phua, Jasub and Simeron, four.
Their brethren also throughout all the house of Issachar, were numbered fourscore and seven thousand most valiant men for war.
Also of the sons of Issachar men of understanding, that knew all times to order what Israel should do, two hundred principal men: and all the rest of the tribe followed their counsel.
Moreover they that were near them even as far as Issachar, and Zabulon, and Nephtali, brought loaves on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, to eat: meal, figs, raisins, wine, oil, and oxen, and sheep in abundance, for there was joy in Israel.
Over Juda, Eliu the brother of David over Issachar, Amri the son of Michael:
For a great part of the people from Ephraim, and Manasses, and Issachar, and Zabulon, that had not been sanctified, ate the phase otherwise than it is written: and Ezechias prayed for them, saying: The Lord who is good will shew mercy,
And by the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, one portion for Issachar.
And by the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, one portion for Zabulon.
And at the south side, thou shalt measure four thousand and five hundred: and three gates, the gate of Simeon one, the gate of Issachar one, the gate of Zabulon one.
Of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand signed:
