  1. Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.

  13. For it stands in Scripture: “See, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone; and the one who believes in Him will never be put to shame.”

  14. To you who believe, then, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,”

  15. because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.

  16. Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

  17. I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

  18. And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
