  1. So man lieth down and riseth not: Till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, Nor be roused out of their sleep.

  2. Oh that thou wouldest hide me in Sheol, That thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, That thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!

  3. If a man die, shall he liveagain? All the days of my warfare would I wait, Till my release should come.

  4. Thou wouldest call, and I would answer thee: Thou wouldest have a desire to the work of thy hands.

  8. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: My flesh also shall dwell in safety.

  9. For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption.

  10. As for me, I shall behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with beholding thy form.

  11. But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol; For he will receive me. [Selah

  12. He hath swallowed up death for ever; and the Lord Jehovah will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people will he take away from off all the earth: for Jehovah hath spoken it.

  13. Thy dead shall live; my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust; for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.

  14. The hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Jehovah, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

  15. And he caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

  16. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord Jehovah, thou knowest.

  17. Again he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of Jehovah.

  18. Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

  19. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.

  20. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and, behold, an earthquake; and the bones came together, bone to its bone.

  21. And I beheld, and, lo, there were sinews upon them, and flesh came up, and skin covered them above; but there was no breath in them.

  22. Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

  23. So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

  24. Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are clean cut off.

  25. Therefore prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, O my people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.
