  1. And I will break the pride of your power: and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass;

  2. and your strength shall be spent in vain; for your land shall not yield its increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruit.

  3. And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

  4. And I will send the beast of the field among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your ways shall become desolate.

  5. And if by these things ye will not be reformed unto me, but will walk contrary unto me;

  6. then will I also walk contrary unto you; and I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

  7. And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall execute the vengeance of the covenant; and ye shall be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

  8. When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

  9. And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;

  10. then I will walk contrary unto you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

  11. And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

  12. And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

  13. Jehovah will make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

  14. Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall consume it.

  15. Thou shalt plant vineyards and dress them, but thou shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worm shall eat them.

  16. Thou shalt have olive-trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast its fruit.

  17. Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be thine; for they shall go into captivity.

  18. All thy trees and the fruit of thy ground shall the locust possess.

  19. He turneth rivers into a wilderness, And watersprings into a thirsty ground;

  20. A fruitful land into a salt desert, For the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

  21. For, behold, the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water;

  22. the mighty man, and the man of war; the judge, and the prophet, and the diviner, and the elder;

  23. the captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the expert artificer, and the skilful enchanter.

  24. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

  25. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor: the child shall behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable.
