  1. I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass.

  8. When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight. You shall eat, and not be satisfied.

  9. “‘If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me;

  10. then I will walk contrary to you in wrath. I will also chastise you seven times for your sins.

  11. You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

  12. Your sky that is over your head will be brass, and the earth that is under you will be iron.

  13. The LORD will make the rain of your land powder and dust. It will come down on you from the sky, until you are destroyed.

  14. You will carry much seed out into the field, and will gather little in; for the locust will consume it.

  15. You will plant vineyards and dress them, but you will neither drink of the wine, nor harvest, because worms will eat them.

  16. You will have olive trees throughout all your borders, but you won’t anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives will drop off.

  17. You will father sons and daughters, but they will not be yours; for they will go into captivity.

  18. Locusts will consume all of your trees and the fruit of your ground.

  19. He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground,

  20. and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

  21. For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of Hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah supply and support, the whole supply of bread, and the whole supply of water;

  22. the mighty man, the man of war, the judge, the prophet, the diviner, the elder,

  23. the captain of fifty, the honorable man, the counselor, the skilled craftsman, and the clever enchanter.

  24. I will give boys to be their princes, and children shall rule over them.

  25. The people will be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor. The child will behave himself proudly against the old man, and the base against the honorable.
