從那裡 來到 腓立比, 就是 馬其頓 這一方 的頭一個 城,也是羅馬的駐防城。 我們 在 這 城 裡住 了幾 天。
當安息 日,我們出 城門,到了 河邊,知道 那裡 有 一個禱告的地方,我們就 坐下 對那聚會 的婦女 講道。
有一個 賣紫色布疋的 婦人,名叫 呂底亞,是推雅推喇 城的人,素來敬拜 神。她聽見了,主 就開導 她的 心,叫她留心聽 保羅 所講的話。
她和 她 一家 既領了洗,便求 我們說:「你們若 以為 我 是 真信 主的(或譯:你們若以為我是忠心事主的),請到 我 家 裡來 住」;於是 強留 我們。
