Edom

Thus says the LORD: “For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;

that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the nations who are called by my name,” says the LORD who does this.

The vision of Obadiah. This is what the Lord the LORD says about Edom. We have heard news from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying, “Arise, and let’s rise up against her in battle.

“Won’t I in that day”, says the LORD, “destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mountain of Esau?

Whereas Edom says, “We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places”; thus says the LORD of Hosts, “They shall build, but I will throw down; and men will call them ‘The Wicked Land,’ even the people against whom the LORD shows wrath forever.”
