  1. For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

  2. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

  7. And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not.

  8. But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

  9. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

  17. And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

  18. Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

  19. And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

  20. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

  21. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

  22. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

  23. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

  24. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
