  1. Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.

  2. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

  3. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

  4. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

  5. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

  6. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

  7. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

  8. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

  9. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

  10. So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

  11. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

  12. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

  13. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

  14. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

  15. For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

  16. And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

  17. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

  18. And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.

  19. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.

  20. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

  21. They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

  22. So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

  23. And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

  24. But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

  25. And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
