  1. Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

  2. He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.

  3. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

  4. ¶ A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.

  11. ¶ Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

  12. ¶ The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

  13. ¶ Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

  14. ¶ A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

  15. ¶ Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.

  16. ¶ Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

  17. ¶ A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.

  18. ¶ A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.

  19. A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

  20. ¶ A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.

  21. ¶ Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

  22. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

  23. ¶ He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.

  24. The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools.

  25. As he that bindeth a stone in a sling, so is he that giveth honour to a fool.
