  1. ¶ And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

  2. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

  3. The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

  4. He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.

  5. He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

  12. When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

  13. And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

  14. And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

  15. ¶ Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

  16. That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?

  17. It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.

  18. And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.

  19. Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?

  20. Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?

  21. Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.

  22. Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

  23. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.

  24. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

  25. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
