Bible Verses About Mercy: Enjoined
Verses on Enjoined
When the king of Isra'el saw them, he asked Elisha, "My father, should I attack them? Should I attack them?"
He answered, "Don't attack them! You wouldn't even attack prisoners you had captured with your own sword and bow, would you? So give them food to eat and water to drink, and let them return to their master."
So he provided well for them; and after they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away; and they returned to their master. After that, no more raiding parties entered the land of Isra'el from Aram.
So you, return to your God; hold fast to grace and justice; and always put your hope in your God.
On the contrary, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For by doing this, you will heap fiery coals [of shame] on his head.”
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with feelings of compassion and with kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
