  1. But because My servant Caleb has a different spirit and has followed Me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he has entered, and his descendants will inherit it.

  2. God is not a man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?

  3. You are to fear the LORD your God and serve Him. Hold fast to Him and take your oaths in His name.

  11. I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

  12. My steps have held to Your paths; my feet have not slipped.

  13. For I have kept the ways of the LORD and have not wickedly departed from my God.

  14. For all His ordinances are before me; I have not disregarded His statutes.

  15. Vindicate me, O LORD! For I have walked with integrity; I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

  16. All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten You or betrayed Your covenant.

  17. Our hearts have not turned back; our steps have not strayed from Your path.

  18. But You have crushed us in the lair of jackals; You have covered us with deepest darkness.

  19. Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.

  20. He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress; I will never be shaken.

  21. Then they will not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose heart was not loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.

  22. Their hearts were disloyal to Him, and they were unfaithful to His covenant.

  23. For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.

  24. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden statue you have set up.”

  25. Now when Daniel learned that the document had been signed, he went into his house, where the windows of his upper room opened toward Jerusalem, and three times a day he got down on his knees, prayed, and gave thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
