  1. or whoever touches a crawling creature or a person that makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be—

  2. the man who touches any of these will remain unclean until evening. He must not eat from the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water.

  3. When the sun has set, he will become clean, and then he may eat from the sacred offerings, for they are his food.

  4. Then the priest must wash his clothes and bathe his body in water; after that he may enter the camp, but he will be ceremonially unclean until evening.

  5. The one who burned the heifer must also wash his clothes and bathe his body in water, and he too will be ceremonially unclean until evening.

  6. Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to gather up the ashes of the heifer and store them in a ceremonially clean place outside the camp. They must be kept by the congregation of Israel for preparing the water of purification; this is for purification from sin.

  7. The man who has gathered up the ashes of the heifer must also wash his clothes, and he will be ceremonially unclean until evening. This is a permanent statute for the Israelites and for the foreigner residing among them.

  8. A priest must not defile himself by going near a dead person. However, for a father, a mother, a son, a daughter, a brother, or an unmarried sister, he may do so,

  9. and after he is cleansed, he must count off seven days for himself.

  10. If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations:

  11. “Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”?

  12. These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.
