  1. “If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me;

  2. What then shall I do when God rises up? When he visits, what shall I answer him?

  3. Didn’t he who made me in the womb make him? Didn’t one fashion us in the womb?

  4. Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.

  5. He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:

  6. “Gather my holy ones together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”

  7. The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah.

  8. The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him.

  9. But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

  10. None of his transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him: in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.

  11. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked? says the Lord GOD; and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?

  12. But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.

  13. Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, house of Israel: Is my way not equal? Aren’t your ways unequal?

  14. When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies therein; in his iniquity that he has done shall he die.

  15. Again, when the wicked man turns away from his wickedness that he has committed, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

  16. Because he considers, and turns away from all his transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

  17. I saw until thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat: his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.

  18. A fiery stream issued and came out from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

  19. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’

  20. Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’

  21. I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

  22. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

  23. The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.

  24. The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.

  25. As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
