Bible Verses About Theft and Thieves
Key Bible Verses
Thou knowest the commandments: Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Honour thy father and mother.
And entering into the temple, he began to cast out them that sold therein and them that bought.
Saying to them: It is written: My house is the house of prayer. But you have made it a den of thieves.
Amen, amen, I say to you: He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold but climbeth up another way, the same is a thief and a robber.
Thou therefore, that teachest another, teachest not thyself: thou, that preachest that men should not steal, stealest.
For: Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal: Thou shalt not bear false witness: Thou shalt not covet. And if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word: Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
But you do wrong and defraud: and that to your brethren.
Nor the effeminate nor liers with mankind nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor railers nor extortioners shall possess the kingdom of God.
He that stole, let him now steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have something to give to him that suffereth need.
Not defrauding, but in all things shewing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or a railer or coveter of other men's things.
Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe and do penance: If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief: and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.
Neither did they penance from their murders nor from their sorceries nor from their fornication nor from their thefts.
