Bible Verses About Mercy Seat
Key Bible Verses
Thou shalt make also a propitiatory of the purest gold: the length thereof shall be two cubits and a half, and the breadth a cubit and a half.
Thou shalt make also two cherubims of beaten gold, on the two sides of the oracle.
Let one cherub be on the one side, and the other on the other.
Let them cover both sides of the propitiatory, spreading their wings, and covering the oracle, and let them look one towards the other, their faces being turned towards the propitiatory wherewith the ark is to be covered.
In which thou shalt put the testimony that I will give thee.
Thence will I give orders, and will speak to thee over the propitiatory, and from the midst of the two cherubims, which shall be upon the ark of the testimony, all things which I will command the children of Israel by thee.
And thou shalt set the propitiatory upon the ark of the testimony, in the holy of holies.
Behold, I have called by name Beseleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Juda,
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding, and knowledge in all manner of work,
The tabernacle of the covenant, and the ark of the testimony, and the propitiatory, that is over it, and all the vessels of the tabernacle,
He made also the propitiatory, that is, the oracle, of the purest gold, two cubits and a half in length, and a cubit and a half in breadth.
And he set the table in the tabernacle of the testimony, at the north side, without the veil,
And he commanded him, saying: Speak to Aaron thy brother, that he enter not at all into the sanctuary, which is within the veil before the propitiatory, with which the ark is covered, lest he die, (for I will appear in a cloud over the oracle),
That when the perfumes are put upon the fire, the cloud and vapour thereof may cover the oracle, which is over the testimony, and he may not die.
He shall take also of the blood of the calf, and sprinkle with his finger seven times towards the propitiatory to the east.
And when he hath killed the buck goat for the sin of the people, he shall carry in the blood thereof within the veil, as he was commanded to do with the blood of the calf, that he may sprinkle it over against the oracle:
And when Moses entered into the tabernacle of the covenant, to consult the oracle, he heard the voice of one speaking to him from the propitiatory, that is over the ark between the two cherubims, and from this place he spoke to him.
Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself.
Whom God hath proposed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to the shewing of his justice, for the remission of former sins,
Let us go therefore with confidence to the throne of grace: that we may obtain mercy and find grace in seasonable aid.
And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies:
And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.
