  1. ‘You have seen for yourselves what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.

  8. You must not profane My holy name. I must be acknowledged as holy among the Israelites. I am the LORD who sanctifies you,

  9. who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.”

  10. The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than the other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.

  11. But because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your fathers, He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

  12. And today the LORD has proclaimed that you are His people and treasured possession as He promised, that you are to keep all His commandments,

  13. that He will set you high in praise and name and honor above all the nations He has made, and that you will be a holy people to the LORD your God, as He has promised.

  14. The LORD will establish you as His holy people, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.

  15. Then all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will stand in awe of you.

  16. But the LORD’s portion is His people, Jacob His allotted inheritance.

  17. He found him in a desert land, in a barren, howling wilderness; He surrounded him, He instructed him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye.

  18. As an eagle stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, He spread His wings to catch them and carried them on His pinions.

  19. The LORD alone led him, and no foreign god was with him.

  20. And who is like Your people Israel—the one nation on earth whom God went out to redeem as a people for Himself and to make a name for Himself? You performed great and awesome wonders by driving out nations and their gods from before Your people, whom You redeemed for Yourself from Egypt.

  21. For You have established Your people Israel as Your very own forever, and You, O LORD, have become their God.

  22. For they are Your people and Your inheritance; You brought them out of Egypt, out of the furnace for iron.

  23. May Your eyes be open to the pleas of Your servant and of Your people Israel, and may You listen to them whenever they call to You.

  24. For You, O Lord GOD, as Your inheritance, have set them apart from all the peoples of the earth, as You spoke through Your servant Moses when You brought our fathers out of Egypt.”

  25. He delivered His strength to captivity, and His splendor to the hand of the adversary.
