Bible Verses About Stubble
Key Bible Verses
In the greatness of your excellency, you overthrow those who rise up against you. You send out your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.
How often is it that they are as stubble before the wind, as chaff that the storm carries away?
My God, make them like tumbleweed; like chaff before the wind.
Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of Hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
Who has raised up one from the east? Who called him to his foot in righteousness? He hands over nations to him, and makes him rule over kings. He gives them like the dust to his sword, like the driven stubble to his bow.
Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.
Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that passes away, by the wind of the wilderness.
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble.
“For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up,” says the LORD of Hosts, “that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
