¶ But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered [with fatness]; then he forsook God [which] made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.

¶ Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors [is] hard.

The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law.
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
