And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called [the mount] of Olives.
And when even was come, he went out of the city.
¶ Now a certain [man] was sick, [named] Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
¶ And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
¶ And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
¶ And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
