  13. And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

  14. And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?

  15. But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

  16. And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

  17. And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,

  18. Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

  19. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:

  20. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

  21. Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.

  22. And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,

  23. And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

  24. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

  25. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
