Bible Verses About Afflictions: Exhibit the love and faithfulness of God

That thou mayst consider in thy heart, that as a man traineth up his son, so the Lord thy God hath trained thee up.

¶ I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.

But whilst we are judged, we are chastised by the Lord, that we be not condemned with this world.

For whom the Lord loveth he chastiseth: and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons. For what son is there whom the father doth not correct?

Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise. Be zealous therefore and do penance.
