Who is the Good Shepherd?

Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. He explicitly identifies Himself with this title in John 10:11, declaring, "I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."

The Divine Shepherd

The title "Shepherd" was reserved for the LORD Himself in the Old Testament (Psalm 23:1). When Jesus calls Himself the kalos G2570 ("Good" or "Beautiful") Shepherd, He claims to be the very God who promised in Ezekiel 34:11: "Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out."
