The Story of This Place

This project wasn't born from a business plan. It was an attempt to craft the kind of quiet, focused sanctuary I hoped could serve others as much as it served me—a place for a personal and genuinely resonant encounter with God’s Word, free from the usual online chaos.

Welcome. The practice of receiving a random Bible verse has been a vital part of my spiritual life for over a decade. I always craved an experience that was completely peaceful, but often found existing tools came with distractions or lacked features I truly desired—especially a source of genuine randomness. Ironically, my search for this comes from a deep conviction: that no verse is truly "random" in its value, because all of Scripture is God's inspired Word for us. A truly random selection simply helps us break out of our familiar chapters and be open to the whole counsel of God. This project was born from that desire: to create a quiet, reliable tool that helps us listen.

Then, in early 2024, during an intense personal trial that required a complete spiritual rebuilding, one of the most constructive outlets I found was to pour my energy into building something meaningful. The vision for TrulyRandomVerse.com was solidified in that fire. My hope is that it can be for you what its creation was for me: a source of connection and a quiet space to hear a word from the Lord.

Our Guiding Principles

This site was built on a foundation of core principles, because the way we engage with Scripture matters.

• Radical Simplicity. The goal is a seamless, fast, and visually calming experience. There are no user accounts to manage or social feeds to scroll. Every element is designed to be intentional and purposeful, removing anything that could distract from the Word.
• Authentic Randomness. In the Bible, crucial decisions were sometimes guided by casting lots (Acts 1:26), a method of seeking God's will through what appeared to be chance. If we seek a "random" verse today, that randomness should be as genuine as possible. We use the Random.org API, which generates true random numbers from atmospheric noise, not algorithms. For transparency, the random seed data is displayed on the main page.
• Thoughtful Technology. The optional AI-powered commentary, driven by Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash, is not an afterthought. Hundreds of hours have been invested in meticulous prompt engineering, training the AI to approach Scripture with reverence, provide contextually-aware insights, and encourage reflection rather than replace it.
• Theological Care & Ongoing Refinement. As the creator and primary user of this site, I am committed to its quality. If I encounter an AI-generated insight that seems theologically askew, I have the ability and personal drive to refine the underlying prompts immediately. This is a living project, constantly being honed to ensure the commentary remains reverent, insightful, and sound.

The Person Behind the Project

My name is Faisal. My approach to development is driven by intuition and a deep focus on the user experience rather than abstract algorithms. The recent advancements in AI have been a revelation, acting as a bridge between the vision in my heart and the complex code required to bring it to life.

Since 2022, I’ve had the privilege of co-founding and serving as the webmaster for Harpazo.club, an online Christian community. This project is a natural continuation of that same calling.
